The following guide has been created to help you make the most of CubeCartForums. These guidelines are based on the forum rules, and will hopefully help you to avoid the pitfalls and problems that can arise in this type of free and commercial forum. Member Status You will no doubt have noticed there are a number of different Membership groups in this forum. Members: Standard members who look to these forums as a great resource for their CubeCart projects. Members Plus: Those members who strive to build a better community resource by submitting free mods and/or skins, as well as donating their own time and skills to helping members with their CubeCart questions and issues. Supporters: Those members who have found the forums so beneficial to their own CubeCart projects, they have donated financially to maintaining this forum and it's running costs. Documentation: Those members who help to maintain the CubeCart documentation. Commercial Contributors: (Includes Commercial Lite status) Those members who are permitted to act/trade commercially within these forums and operate in a way to ensure their products and services are well regarded within the community. Moderators: A group of members chosen by Admin who are trusted to manage and maintain the forum, enforce the rules and deal with issues when they arise. These members are volunteers, and are also trusted 'Commercial Contributors'. Administrators: The administrator oversees the overall running of the forum, supported by the moderating team. The moderators will refer any issues or disputes to the administrator if they feel it necessary or if they deem there to be a conflict of interests. The administrator is also a trusted 'Commercial Contributor'. We have these groups to help you distinguish between those in the forum who are regular, those who are commercial and those who are just visiting on an adhoc basis. Are you looking for free products and help? There are a variety of free mods and skins available in the download section of this site. The member who submitted the mod or skin is responsible for it, and therefore deemed the person to approach for support. A lot of free mods and skins (plus a lot of commercial products) available in the forum are supported at no cost. Note only 'Commercial Contributors' are permitted to charge for products and services in the forum. There are also certain levels of support which should be considered not free. For example, where a 'Commercial Contributor' has provided a free mod with detailed installation instructions, if a member wants the author to install it, an installation fee may be expected. If you are looking to hire a designer or developer, we recommend you only accept the services of members with 'Commercial Contributor' status. There are several reasons for this, those being as follows: Only 'Commercial Contributors' are permitted to offer 'paid for' CubeCart products and services at this site. 'Commercial Contributors' have a feedback forum where customers can post their experiences, success stories and issues. Customers are permitted one post per incident, and the Commercial Contributor is permitted one reply. Don't forget to post your experiences! 'Commercial Contributors' tend to be well known in the forum, and have a reputation to maintain in providing quality products and services. As 'Commercial Contributors' are more likely to be regulars in the forum, therefore easier to contact if required, and more reliable. It is a requirement for the mods and skins advertised in this forum to be supported by the 'Commercial Contributor' who posted them. It is viewed as a privilege to trade in this forum as a 'Commercial Contributor', therefore the status is respected. 'Commercial Contributors' are proven to be skilled and knowledgeable with regards to CubeCart. If they are not able to help, they will likely recommend another 'Commercial Contributor' who can. Issues arising from bad products or services are taken very seriously. If members turn to non-commercial status members for paid services, we are not able to regulate the quality of services they might receive. You should ask why those members are secretly touting for business out of the public eye, as they may not be around tomorrow to fix any issues caused. Buyer beware. The most important advice we can offer you, is do your research. We strongly recommend that members research the person/company from which they are accepting help, advice, products or services. Do not confuse this with a support or mod request forum. Request a Mod - This is for suggesting to requesting mods to be developed for the general community. Do not confuse this with requesting a custom mod for yourself, which is best posted in the 'Hire' forum. Stock mods are usually developed from good ideas and a general community requirement, not from a unique need. Ask yourself if other members will benefit from this mod, if so then this is the correct forum. If not, then post in the 'hire' forum. Skin or Mod Discussion - Discussing issues with existing or pending skins or mods. Do not confuse this forum with a mod or skin request forum, or a support forum. Support forum - For posting requesting help on a problem you are having. Hire Forum - For requesting unique mods or skins to be developed to meet your specific needs. CubeCart Chat - For non-version specific discussions... for example hosting chat, SEO chat, general CubeCart chat in other words. Do not confuse this forum for a support or mod request forum. Coding Help - This is for the discussion of coding issues which you would like some help with. This forum is more for developers and designers, asking for help with a code issue they have encountered. Do not confuse this forum for a general support forum. You are more likely to resolve your issue, or get the desired mod if you pick the correct forum to post in.
