Description:

This mod allows site owners to place a slideshow module featuring up to 30 different products in various places within the store although the most common place is at the top of the homepage. Within the slideshow box itself, the price (and any sale price if set) along with the description and a thumbnail image are displayed. The customer can either click on the product image or the name to be taken to that product page or alternatively can add the product directly to their cart.

The slideshow is extremely configurable with the height and width being changeable to fit your CubeCart skin, the background, header bar and text colours are also configurable and have very easy to use colour pickers.

The style of the slideshow is highly configurable with 28 different slide effects and 31 different easing methods available to be chosen. Combine all these possibilities with also being to set the slide and transition speeds, it enables the site admin to choose exactly how they want the slideshow to appear on their site. In addition, it is also possible to choose to use the store's featured products or products from a specific category. Pagination can also be switched on or off to allow the website visitor to go directly to a specific product without waiting to go around the loop.

Displayed within the slideshow is the product name and a thumbnail of the main product image (both of which are clickable, taking you to the product details), list price, sale price if applicable and as much of the product description as will fit into the space that is available. There is also an Add to Cart button which uses the skin default. This is a fantastic way to showcase products and as well as jazzing up the look of the homepage, has had an immediate impact on the number of sales on the sites that it has so far been installed on.

V1.1 - Ability to enable / disable via admin settings program
V1.2 - Added the ability to define whether the prices shown in the slideshow should have applicable tax added for display purposes if they are stored in the inventory file without tax. It is also now possible to define some text that goes before the standard price, the sale price and also after the price. For each of these 3 small phrases it is possible to define the font size and colours to be used. It is also now possible to use a hidden category from the store (for example Slideshow Products as in the image further down this thread) which can be used to add the products that you want to display within the slideshow.

It is working, you might be leaving your mouse pointer over the image which stops the slide show from continuing, just a thought.

I dont see any problems with the demo site. I have changed the size of the window and also the scroll type on the demo site for variety. I have also added a couple of extra images below showing the admin screen where the settings are changed and also a screenshot of the homepage but a static screenshot doesnt do this mod any justice !

There is no reason why it cant be put in other places and I have added it to the bottom of the first category page as you can see here http://www.cubecart-demo.co.uk/index.php?_...Cat&catId=1.

The parameters can only be set once though but in most cases this should always work. All that is needed is the addition of {GLIDER_CONTENT} to a template file although other than the homepage and category pages, not sure where else you would want to put it ? Where else were you thinking of ?

A couple of recent upgrades

V1.1 - Ability to enable / disable via admin settings program

It is a very nice mod, but I see that it sit to the left and not centered. Can it be centered and can you change the color?

It is a very nice mod, but I see that it sit to the left and not centered. Can it be centered and can you change the color?

There is an admin settings program where a large number of parameters can be set to configure the slideshow window as shown in the image further up this thread.

These include being able to change the background, foreground and text colours of each part and well as the height and width of the slideshow itself and also a huge range of slide speeds, effects and easing methods.

The slideshow is a fixed width but can be centered as you can now see by looking at our CubeCart Demo website - previously it was fxied to the left hand side of the homepage content.
