This mod allows your customers to enter free text into input field(s) when adding a product to their basket. It is completely configurable, you can add as many text input fields as you like to any of your products (and some products can also have no text input fields). This mod has many uses including customization/personalization of products, specifying gift card details, etc.

New features (these features were not in the CC3 version of this mod):

• If required fields have not been filled, error messages are displayed dynamically within the page with a slick fade in animation affect.
• Javascript popups are no longer used, thereby helping to make this mod user friendly for your customers.

Features:

• Each product may have zero or more text input fields
• They do not affect standard product options - any standard product options will be displayed on the product details page above any text input fields.
• Each text input field can:
  
  • be a single line input field or a multiple line input box (of any size);
    
  • be set as required or optional;
    
  • have an optional character limit (single line input fields only).
• Any information entered into any text input fields will be displayed on the checkout pages and shown in the order details/history.
• Mod is easy to use. Installation instructions have been carefully prepared and are easy to follow. Database changes are automatically applied.

Can I doing the following with is mod...
I would like to have the text input boxes positioned inbetween some product options.
eg

Product Option 1
Product Option 2
Text Input box 1
Product Option 3
Text Input box 2

Can this be done?

@Adam - this is not currently possible with how the mod has been designed, product options are positioned above text input fields (or instead the text input fields can be displayed above product options).

Hi I purchased this Mod and followed the install instructions, I am able to enable the mod and configure it, however when I go to add/edit product the mod I cannot choose the text field options I configured. It gives me the following message, prompting me to configure the text fields, even though I already have

Text Input Fields: No Text Input Fields have been configured.
To configure Text Input Fields, go to Admin -> 3rd Party -> Text Input Mod.

I am using Cubecart 4.1.1

Hi, so you have created one or more text input fields within Admin -> 3rd Party -> Text Input Mod? I am not sure what could be causing the problem, please contact me via my contact page (link in my signature below) and I will look into it for you.

We use this Mod on ALL our products. Awesome! Could not have been using CubeCart without this!

ALL our items are custom imprinted like promotional pens, etc. With this Mod, the customer can order on line by telling us what to imprint on their pens, etc.

What I was wondering however is this: Is it possible to update this mod via the “Import Catalog” feature? We do it with some of your other Mods, including Minimum Order Quantities and Product Quantity Discounts...

@Rapid Web - No, you cannot import the text field information when using the CubeCart Import Catalogue feature. This mod was ported from CubeCart 3 and it was not redesigned to allow import when using the Import Catalogue feature. Its a trade off... if I were to change it to work with the Import Catalogue feature this would require database changes, hence everyone upgrading from CubeCart 3 would have to setup their text fields from scratch.

Hi Estelle,

I would like to know if this mod can allow my customer to change the text input field on the checkout page, when they want to change the quantity for a product, e.g. If my customer adds 3 of 12x18" Canvas Prints and the photos they want to use are IMG10, IMG20 and IMG30 (so they enter the photo numbers in the text field)...I want to know if, apon checkout, they change their mind and decide they only want 2 canvases, if they can change the text field (along with the quantity)?

@kinderyum - If a customer wants to change the text they can return to the product page and add the product again, then remove the old one. To make this easy for your customers, make sure that the product names listed in the customer's basket contents have a link back to the product page.

So can you tell me, what makes this different than the text area or text box product option fields that come standard with version 4?

I currently am having issues with the text box options not transferring all the info in customer orders, so I'm wondering if I use your Mod, if it will solve my problems?

MySQL Error Occurred

Error Message:
1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's";}}' WHERE sessId='c4a8471fa57fd87b28f97e638e2103de'' at line 1

SQL:
UPDATE CubeCart_sessions SET `basket` = 'a:1:{s:15:"textinputValues";a:1:{i:0;s:7:"Ricky's";}}' WHERE sessId='c4a8471fa57fd87b28f97e638e2103de';


My hosting company says it is caused by the apostrophe that was entered. I tested the demo with the same text and it worked. I also sent Estelle a message but she is about to get married and has not responded.

Can anyone help???

So I just installed this mod and tested your problem of the apostrophe, and I got that same error. Have you figured out a solution? I will put a message into Estelle also.

No solution as of yet. Still no response from Estelle either. If you find a fix please let me know.

I also have v4.3.3 so maybe the others that work use an earlier version. Hopefully Estelle will respond soon!!!
