This mod gives you complete control over the display order of products in your storefront categories and also on your store homepage.

It allows you to quickly and easily rearrange your products into any custom sort order. This is done by entering a sort key for each product, e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc. The sorting can be done entirely through the Admin -> View Products page (you do not have to edit each individual product). You can use the Tab key on your keyboard to jump straight from one sort key field to the next, straight down the column. You can also adjust the sort key for an individual product when you are within the Admin -> Add/Edit Product page.

• You can now control the display order of the products featured on your homepage! You can choose a default sort order (e.g. most popular products first, or most expensive products first) and you can also have precise control over the order in which your homepage products are displayed.

• Your custom sort order will be applied to the following four areas within your storefront: category (product listing) pages, sale items page, search results page, homepage latest products.
• You are not limited to alphabetical ordering, or ordering by date... there are no limitations on the order in which your products are displayed.

Will this mod ever allow the customer to sort the products by there own preferance?

Such as a drop down box in each catergory so the customer can sort by price, size, name etc etc?

CubeCart 4 already allows customer category sorting by name & price.

If you're actually running CubeCart 3, then there is a mod at my store that adds this feature called Customer Product Display Order.

I have version 4 and I for the life of me can't find where the product sorting options are in the admin side? I see no option for ordering them by price or by name?

There is no option in the admin side, its only for the customer visiting your site, they have the option to change the sort order by price or name. With Estelle's mod you can do this through admin.

The mod allows you to sort your products into any order of your choice, i.e. you choose exactly which product is displayed first, second, third, etc. Your custom sort order affects the category pages, sale items page, search results, and in the latest version you can also sort the products displayed on your store homepage.

The mod doesn't allow you to use simple sort methods like 'by price' or 'by name' - there is no point to these sorting methods as the customer is already able to change the sort order to 'Name' or 'Price' through your storefront. If you do not understand what I mean, view a category at my store and look at the 'Sort' button on the right hand side (beside the pagination links).

What about setting the sort order storewide to 'latest first'? Can this mod do that? I'm looking into upgrading from CC3 to CC4 and trying to find out whether we can get all the functions we currently have in CC3 if we do so. The 'Product Display Order' mod is one we need to replace for CC4, so latest products show up at the top of the list.

There is a setting called "Display newest products first" in Admin -> General Settings where you can set the categories to show the newest products first.

This Custom Product Sort mod also makes use of that setting. So if you have this mod and you enable that setting, newest products will be shown first by default and you can then move specific products around within your categories into any display order of your choice.

Hello i would like to make my store show highest prices frist on all products in all cat
is this possiable i now the customer can change it

This mod allows you to manually reorder how your products are displayed within the categories, this mod does not allow you to set the categories to automatically have highest priced products listed first. You will need something else for that, please search or ask in the other areas of these forums.

Just bought this mod, took about 20 mins to install (and that was because I was eating my lunch at the same time) and it works perfectly! Brilliant mod! Keep up the good work!
