Description:
This mod is perfect for stores that have lots of images, or multiple images for each product.

This mod affects the admin side of your store and allows you to manage your images with ease. It allows you to upload many images simultaneously and instantly link the set of uploaded images with one of your products, organize your images into folders, list the images in a particular folder only, and more! It has advanced functionality, and yet its very easy to install.

Features:

• Allows you to filter images by folders within the Admin -> View Products -> Manage Images popup window (so you can avoid browsing through 10 pages just to find the image you want!)

• Create folders for sorting your images into, manage folders, delete folders

• Allows you to move multiple images between folders, so you can organize images that have already been uploaded.

• Upload an unlimited number of images at once - just get the upload started, then get on with your other work.

• You can then instantly link the set of uploaded images with an existing product (allowing you to almost entirely avoid using the Admin -> View Products -> Manage Images popup window!). This feature alone can be a massive time saver! The mod will setup the first uploaded image as the primary product image (if the product doesn't yet have a primary image) and all other images are setup as additional/secondary product images.

• Any images which are corrupt or have a filesize of 0 bytes are highlighted clearly in red within the Admin -> Manage Images page, allowing you to correct any problems easily.

This CC4 mod is amazing! It saves me heaps of time. Thank you so much for your developing such a wonderful CC4 mod.

I highly recommend this mod to any CC4 store owner who needs to deal with lots of images for each product. You won't regret it, period.

Note: For anyone who is installing v1.1 of this mod to CubeCart 4.2.0 or 4.2.1, just skip the changes to functions.inc.php. These changes need to go into CubeCart 4.1.1 (or earlier) to fix a bug, but in CubeCart 4.2.0 (or later) the bug has been fixed by CubeCart staff so there is no need for the changes.

This will be clarified in v1.2 of "Pro Image Manager", when I find the time to release it!

Will it also show which products an image is attached to? This would be very useful to at least myself to help get rid of images that are no longer in use. If not, maybe add in an upgrade?

@jsgypsy - This is not something I had considered before. I'm not sure that it would be useful to all that many people (there's other new features that would be higher priority). If you need this feature, I could do a custom development for you store, contact me for more info. Or if other people need it, please post here and I will consider adding it in a future version.

Hi Estelle,

I bought this mod a few weeks ago but haven't had much of a chance to play with it. Tonight I found that it will not show the images I already had in my store. It picks up the folders I had filed the images into but shows the folders as empty. Also, I uploaded more images via ftp (old habit) again, these do not show, just the folders and sub folders but no contents.

I followed the instructions that came with the mod but does this suggest that I missed out a step, or any other ideas?

Jamie, sorry for the late reply I have been extremely busy. The best way to contact me is via the contact page at my store.

You probably have figured this out already but with recent versions of CubeCart, after uploading images via FTP you have to go to Admin -> Rebuild & Recount and at the top there should be a button 'Rebuild Image Database'. (Image names are all stored in the database in recent versions to improve performance of image related Admin pages).

There is also a couple of CubeCart bugs which caused problems with my mod, this may be what you are referring to. I have included the fixes to these bugs in the latest version of the mod. Contact me (link in my signature) to get an updated version of the mod.

@krs1 - You can rename folders in a round about way, by creating a new folder then moving all the images from the original folder to the new folder. Wouldn't take long (when moving the images be sure to use the 'Check all' feature to tick all the checkboxes). The mod doesn't allow you to rename images (first time anyone has asked for this feature).

I also have this mod and I love it, but we've manually added some essential things that are missing on the original mod from Estelle:

The image file selection process is time conssuming: you can not select more than one image from the browser box, so if you want to upload 25 images you need to open 25 times the browser box with Estelles mod (as well as the Cubecart default image uploader, no differences here!!!)

We upload around 50 daily images to our stores and it was worth for us to implement our own "hold CTRL to select multiple files" function! My webmaster made a modification on Estelle's mod by applying a public domain script that allows to select multiple files on your local computer by holding the CTRL key, no need to open 50 times the file selection box to access to your local hard disk.

I wrotte an email to Estelle and I gave the links to several scripts that allow this function, so I could help her to upgrade her "Pro Image Manager Mod", but she told me that she had no time to implement this CTRL key function, and this will never work because internet navigators don't accept hold CTRL selection !?!? (I've to look her email to know her exact sentence, but this is the answer that I got!!! anyway the CTRL-key is working well on our modded "Pro Image Manager Mod"), maybe we didn't use the right words to ask it nice.

I've a big appreciation fot Estelle's work, and for the assitance received on other issues, so don't understand this post as an attack to Estelle.

@clip1493 - Thanks for your feedback. I did discuss this with you a long time ago, the standard file upload functionality supported by browsers doesn't allow multiple files to be selected from the file browser window. You did provide me with a bunch of links to various javascript and flash based file upload utilities, I looked at these and some didn't seem to work, some were licensed in such a way that I could not use them in my Pro Image Manager mod since it is a commercial product... however a lot of time has passed since then so I need to have another look and see what is available. At the time I could not take on any more custom programming jobs, and I provided you with the refund that you requested. I would be interested to see what you were able to setup, feel free to contact me using the link in my signature below if you want to help me improve the mod

OK. I haven't bought this mod...but I have bought 4 of Estelle's other mods very recently and will probably buy a couple more. Just want to re-iterate what so many have said. Estelle's tops for customer responses that are timely and useful, and mods that are comprehensive solutions. Thanks Estelle.

Hi

does this mod accept other file formats, I am looking to add technical specs to products that may be images, word docs, pdf and maybe even video. I have seen one for cc3 but not cc4

Any help appreciated.
