I can nothing but agree, this mod is a "must have" if you Once you've set your options sell products with options. Saves enormous amounts of time and frustration!
And like everything Estelle produces it's top class and really easy to install thanks to superb instructions. Thank you Estelle! Can only think of one tiny improvement of this mod: a direct link to "Stock levels for product options", another indispensable mod by the same author. Once I've set the options for an item I would like to go from there to complete the stock list for that item. Cheers, Bo |

2 things Im not sure I like the search for products over the old popup window
the popup window was easier when you have over 40,000 products and was easy to select the category then select the product to edit options on the search? well ya goota type in some keywords... and I could have 3000 products all using that same keyword so I have to dig deep to remember a specific keyword to find the ONE product both methods should be implemented and made switchable use or not use secondly when an option is set to new base price the PRICE field should be able to update/display the new base price when a user selects an option that changes the base price currently it does not and could mean a big surprise for the customer when they add it to cart because new base price doesnt even show the new price in the drop down Kinetic Cheers -- its great to your feedback! Ok I did find out why my new base price wasnt showing seems I had set that option before I installed the quick edit mod and I had to go back thru all products that had options already assigned
and update them via the quick edit mod I also found BennyUKs dynamic price updater mod which I was able to tie into the store with quick edit options installed the only thing Is We just have to set all our option prices to difference and then let bennys mod take over and show (+$20) or what ever and then when customer selects the item it automatically set the Price: to the base price + option price and shows the newBase price We are also going to be taking out the + sign and parenthesis and replacing it with "Addl" so we would get Addl. $20 in the drop down Addl. of course being the abbreviation for "Additional" Kinetic This post has been edited by Kinetic: May 25 2008, 02:40 PM -------------------- Why Leash your imagination in the first place?

Does this mod *also* allow you to sort the product options? Or would I need the Sort Product Options mod for that separately?

The sort order that can be achieved with "Quick Edit Product Options" has limitations. The product option groups (Size, Style, Colour, etc) are always ordered in the order in which they were originally created, this cannot be changed without quite a lot of difficulty. You do however have complete control over the display order of the individual product option values (S, M, L, etc) which are displayed in the order in which they are/were assigned to the product (so they could be sorted differently for different products).
"Sort Product Options" (image below) was created because of the limited sort control provided by "Quick Edit Product Options". "Sort Product Options" allows greater control, you have precise control over the display order of each product option group and each product option value. This is done globally, you only have to sort them once and it applies to all products. Therefore it is very useful if you have already assigned your product options to your products in an incorrect order, and now want to change the display order. The only small limitation of the "Sort Product Options" mod is that it is a global sort order so you cannot have product option values (S, M, etc) sorted differently for different products, but this usually isn't wanted anyway. My suggestion would be to get "Quick Edit Product Options" which is very useful, and consider "Sort Product Options" later if you need to reorganise your product options. ![]() 2 things Im not sure I like the search for products over the old popup window the popup window was easier when you have over 40,000 products and was easy to select the category then select the product to edit options on the search? well ya goota type in some keywords... and I could have 3000 products all using that same keyword so I have to dig deep to remember a specific keyword to find the ONE product both methods should be implemented and made switchable use or not use If the new AJAX product search is difficult for anyone to use, remember that you can easily get to the Quick Edit Options page with the product already selected if you follow the links from the Admin -> Add/Edit Product page. If other people find the product search difficult to use I would consider adding a category drop down list to restrict the search results. Quick Edit Product Options is fully integrated with my Dynamic Product Prices mod, which would allow the displayed price to remain correct at all times when different product options are selected, and also allows you to get rid of the (+$x.xx) that is displayed within the product option drop down lists. -------------------- ![]() Estelle's Mod Store --> For help with any of my mods please use my contact page! Thanks Estelle, it sounds like Sort Product Options is what I need. I have already setup all the products and product options for this client, but the Small, Medium, Large, XLarge are showing in a weird order on the actual product pages. So if I can change the order of the Size options once and have it change for all products that use size options, that would be perfect for what I need. |

Hello Estelle,
I installed the Quick Edit Product Options mod and now I don't know how I would ever get by without it. Some of our products have close to 150 different options and this mod makes it so fast and easy to add or delete with minimal clicks. It is absolutely awesome. Thanks, Steve |
