This mod reduces the number of checkout pages by one for all new customers, so it is useful for most stores. Customers who already have an account at your store will go through the same number of checkout pages as usual.

For shoppers who are not logged in, normally when they view the cart then click the 'Checkout' button they will be taken to a page that has three sections, 'Repeat customer?', 'I do not have an account' and 'Continue shopping'. For most stores that have more new customers than repeat customers, this page does not serve much purpose and simply slows the customer down.

This CubeCart mod will remove this page so that shoppers are taken straight to the page where they enter their invoice details. It also adds information towards the top of the page: 'Already have an account? Please log in or use the forgot password feature if you cannot remember your password'.

Very easy to follow installation instructions presented with colour coded HTML.

NOTE: Latest version fixes a problem where the customer may end up at a 404 error page... "The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server"

I followed the install instructions exactly and seem to have an error with this mod

If I click the 'log in' link placed in reg.tpl I am taken to the log in page. After logging in I am redirected back to my website homepage, and not my store homepage or cart which is found at domain.com/store/

Clicking the usual login link found in the session box ("Welcome Guest") still works fine so for now I have removed the link in reg.tpl

I presume I need to edit one of the links in Estelles mod to include /store/index.php but not sure where. Anyone else having this problem?

Did not work out well. I installed this and get the following script across the top of the checkout page:

Removed all edited files, uploaded my originals, cleared out cubecart cache, restarted browser after cache clear, and the message remains.

Any help please? Site is basically non functional now thanks to this mod.

That indicates that one of the files has become corrupt during upload, probably includes/content/step1.inc.php.

Upload the original files again. If the problem remains use a different FTP program, I highly recommend SmartFTP.

That was the problem. Had a clean install, worked like a charmm.

I had the same problem, version 4.2.2.

I know you probably found the answer by now but just in case others get this problem the store directory needs to be added to the template reg.tpl file.

so the two occurrences of index.php? become /YOUR_STORE_DIRECTORY/index.php?

The other files remain just index.php? I wonder why?

Great Mod !! You are on the right track here. Any mods that speed the customer thru the order/ch checkout procedure are mods that are addressing the right problems.

Many of us are looking for a mod that gets rid of the Must Click To Agree To Terms and Conditions. Cay you help with that?

@stableimaging - thanks, this was fixed a while back and the new version was available for download at my store, but I forgot to update the version that is downloadable here until today.

@nomic - no, this mod is only for CubeCart 4.

I am working on a commercial mod called Checkout Improvements which will further reduce the number of checkout pages and will improve the checkout process in other ways also. This new mod is listed in the 'Coming soon' section of my store homepage, you can find more info about it here and if you want I can notify you when it is released.

Just tried this mod followed the instructions.

I seemed to be ok except it directed me back to the homepage rather than next step.. It also emptied the basket.

Any idea what i missed?
