The interface is designed to very easy to use and allows fast editing. You can quickly switch between different products (using the category/product drop down boxes). When using tiered shipping prices you can edit all of the tiered rates simultaneously. If you have installed convict's clone product mod, the shipping rates are also automatically copied over when a product is cloned.

Functionality:

1. Default product shipping price

• You can setup a default per item shipping price, which will be used for any products that haven't had different shipping prices setup. This way you don't have to enter shipping prices for every single product in your inventory.

2. Two ways to setup shipping prices for each product

• Each product can have a simple shipping price per item, e.g. Shipping price for Product A is $X per item, shipping price for Product B is $Y per item, Product C has free shipping, etc.
• Or any of your products can have tiered shipping prices. e.g. Shipping price for Product B is $X if purchasing 1, $Y if purchasing 2, $Z for any additional items over 2.

Is this a standalone module?

And also: Is it possible to add something like if ordered quantity is a multiple of 2 $X if an odd number of items $Y? Some of our products are packed in pairs so if a customer orders 2 we send one carton if he orders 3 we have to send 2 cartons and so on.

Yes it is standalone.

For each individual product you can set the shipping price for a quantity of 1, 2, 3, etc. A typical example might be that the shipping cost for 1 of Product A is $3.00, 2 of Product A can be shipped for $5.00, 3 of Product A can be shipped for $6.00, etc.

The total shipping cost is then calculated by summing up the shipping cost of each individual product, i.e. total shipping cost = shipping cost for Product A + shipping cost for Product B + ...

In your case since you have an unusual odd/even situation you could setup shipping as follows...
For 1 of Product A the shipping cost for this product could be $3, for 2 of Product A the shipping cost for this product could be $3, for 3 of Product A the shipping cost for this product could be $6, etc.
This odd/even behaviour cannot go on forever, eventually you have to set a shipping cost for each additional quantity of Product A, this could be $0 to cap the shipping cost of Product A, or it could be $1.50 to add $1.50 for each additional Product A. Note to others....

I have another mod called "Custom Shipping Fee for Selected Products" that is NOT STANDALONE. It allows you to give free shipping or a custom shipping fee to just particular products in your inventory, while leaving regular shipping calculations for all of your other products. This Custom Shipping Fee mod needs to be used in conjunction with a regular shipping module such as By Weight, USPS, All In One Shipping Module, etc. It allows particular products to be excluded from standard shipping calculations and these products can instead be given free shipping or a custom per-item shipping fee (e.g. $5 per item).

At the time of writing this, this other mod is only available for CubeCart 4, but I will be releasing it for CubeCart 3 in future.
