This CubeCart mod allows particular products to be given free shipping or a custom shipping fee. Very useful for a variety of situations, including:

• Promotions/specials that involve free shipping for particular products
• If you have some products for which the shipping cost is already included into the product price
• Oversized/bulky products
• Adding a handling fee to particular products (refer to 'shipping surcharge' below).

This is NOT a regular standalone shipping module. It is a third party modification (mod) that is designed to be used in conjunction with one or more shipping modules such as our 'All In One' Shipping Module or built-in shipping modules such as UPS, USPS, By Weight, Canada Post, etc.

Free shipping: You can set any products in your store as having free shipping. Your standard shipping module(s) will still be used to calculate shipping prices, but products set as 'free shipping' will be excluded from those shipping calculations. If a customer is purchasing only items that are set as 'free shipping', no shipping will be charged.

Custom shipping fee: Any products can be set as having a custom shipping fee and the (per item) shipping cost can be entered. The shipping price will be determined by excluding these 'custom shipping fee' products and performing standard shipping calculations, then the custom shipping fee will be added on top. (The custom shipping fee is a per item fee so it is multiplied by the quantity of the item)

Shipping surcharge: This mod has an extra feature called 'shipping surcharge' that can be enabled within the configuration settings. This feature allows you to set particular products as having a 'shipping surcharge', these products would still be included in regular shipping calculations, but an extra fee would be added to the total shipping price. (Again, the extra fee is per item so it is multiplied by the quantity of that item)

Compatibility:

• Not compatible with the Per Category shipping module.
• Not compatible with our Shipping By Item module (but there's no reason to use them together!)

Does the "Custom shipping fee" get added to the standard shipping calculation?
I have a store that uses the Aus post shipping system. But we want to sell some greeting cards, these come out quite expensive using Aus post and the box dimensions weve used for all the other products. Basically I was hoping to have a per card cost of say .80c. Can this be done?

Yes absolutely.

The "Custom shipping fee" is a per-item shipping fee (e.g. $0.80 per card) and it will be summed up and added to the shipping price that is quoted by Australia Post.
