This CubeCart mod is great for cross-selling your products! Plus it may allow quicker shopping for your customers.

Any product in your store can have accessory products setup. The "parent" product and any "accessory" products are all normal products in your store inventory. Accessory products will be listed in the product details page for the parent product, and each accessory product will have a checkbox beside it. Any accessory products that are selected (i.e. the checkbox is ticked) will be added to the basket at the same time as the parent product is added to the basket.

Demo: I use this mod throughout my store, have a look at the "Recommended Accessories" section of each product page.

Features:

• Uses AJAX for very fast and easy selection of accessory products.
• Provides a fast and convenient way for customers to purchase two or more different products simultaneously
• Increase your sales by advertising associated products (e.g. a digital camera could have memory cards and soft cases listed as accessory products).
• Since the accessory product is a normal product in your store, the stock level for any accessory products will be decreased as per usual when it is purchased. This is a big benefit over trying to achieve the same functionality with regular product options (which aren't real products at all).

Notes: The mod doesn't allow you to discount the prices. The "parent" product and "accessory" products are treated as completely independent products within the basket - they are currently not treated as a package. The quantities of the parent product and accessory product can be updated individually without affecting the other.

Compatibility: CubeCart version 4.1.x or more recent versions (4.2.x, 4.3.x etc). This mod is NOT COMPATIBLE with CubeCart 4.0.x.

Is there a way to apply a set of accessories to multiple products? ie if I select several for one product I can then somehow assign them to many different products. I had this mod in v3 and I though you could do this then, but it's been a while...

Jack, no it is not currently possible to create sets of accessories, but if you want to copy product accessories from one product to another I can provide you with instructions that will allow you to do this easily by direct manipulation of the database.

1. MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DATABASE! You can do this via Admin -> Backup
2. With the store admin area change the browser URL to admin.php?_g=maintenance/sql
3. Enter the following into the text box BUT change the number 1 to the product ID that already has the product accessories setup, and change the number 2 to the product ID that you want to copy the product accessories to. (To determine the correct product IDs look in the left column of the Admin -> View Products page).

Can you do multiple products at once? Say copy from prod 1 to 2,3,4 etc.?

No but you can easily use a text editor and put this line into it multiple times (NOTE: before duplicating the line you need to have a semicolon at the end!) and then quickly go down each row and adjust the number. E.g.
