This CubeCart mod allows customers to upload one or more images when purchasing a product. Each image is uploaded via a popup window, and the filename of each image is recorded beside the appropriate product in their order.

This mod is actually an extension of the Text Input Fields for Products mod, so all of the functionality in that mod is also included in this mod.

Notes:

• The colours/styles in the image upload popup window will vary depending on your store skin.

Features:

• The customer can upload an image to your website when viewing a product.
  
• Only valid image files of type jpg/jpeg, gif, tif or png are accepted, full checking is performed to ensure that the file is a valid image file.
  
• After upload the image is displayed to the customer so they can confirm that they have uploaded the correct image.
  
• The name of the image(s) uploaded is recorded with the customer's order.
  
• The image can be viewed/download within the Admin area
  
• One or more images can be uploaded per product.
  
• You can set whether the image upload is required or optional.
  
• Also includes all featured listed for Text Input Fields for Products

New version 1.2 just released. If you have purchased a license for this mod please contact me to receive the latest version, free of charge.

The file types that the customer is permitted to upload is now configurable. The default file types are JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG, and you can now configure extra permitted file types such as PDF, ZIP, etc...

I have other improvements planned for future versions of this mod, please contact me if you would like to suggest improvements.

I would really like to incorporate this into a store im building, but i need to see how it functions ... can you point me to a demo, or a site using this mod so i can see how it incorporates into the workflow !

I don't currently have a demo setup and won't be able to set one up soon as I am about to move house, internationally. The mod currently works as follows....

- It adds a "Select File" button to the product details page.
- When the customer is viewing the product they can click this button and a popup window opens.
- Within the popup window the customer can select an image (or file, document, etc) and click the Upload button. As soon as they click the Upload button a message is displayed at the top of the page "The file is currently being uploaded, this may take several minutes..."
- When the upload is completed the popup window page reloads to display a success message and the image that was uploaded.
- The customer can then click the 'Close Window' button to return to the product page where they will see a thumbnail of the image that was uploaded.
- The customer can then add the product to their basket.
- Within the view basket page the filename is displayed beside the product in their basket.

Hi Estelle, fantastic mod!!!!

This seems to do what I need it to, but is it possible for this mod to verify the quality of an image? I am working on a store for a school photography company who wish for the customers to create unique gifts with either their school photograph or an uploaded image.

For larger products eg canvases, enlarged prints etc. we need to warn the customer if the image isn't a suitable resolution for the product.

Also we come up against a copright issue. The customer needs to inform us that they have permission to duplicate the image.

Is it possible that these features could be added?

Hi, I'm sure it would be possible to develop these features, but unfortunately I am not available for any custom programming at the present time. This Mod lets us do just that!

Hi we bought this mod for our store in the UK in fact its so important for what we want to use it for we can not do business legally without it. However we keep getting an error when try to upload any file type, basically saying the file type is not valid! We have tried to contact Estelle for advice but nothing as of this posting I am not sure if she is on holiday or away a t the momement so if any one else can help it would be really appreciated - Estelle if you read this please can you help us?

@easynumberplates - I provided you with a patch a few days ago and a new patch this morning. This new patch should resolve the problem you are experiencing. The FTP details provided were incorrect, if the problem remains please provide me with correct FTP details so that I can resolve the problem quickly. Cheers

I have v4.3.4 and I really like this mod and had it working but suddenly nothing would add to my basket. When I contacted cubecart support they say this mod conflicts with 4.3.4. Is anyone using this mod with 4.3.3 successfully?

I did go back to v4.3.3 and my add to basket problem seems to be resolved. But I am having another problem now.

Has anyone experienced the error below when using text input fields in this mod? It seems to have a problem when the text contains an apostrophe.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my problem has been resolved. After much heartache and research, I finally found someone to help me.

Al, one of the Cube Cart support team logged into my server and found the problem then fixed it for me.

Al, you are awesome.

I have been working on the new version of this mod for quite some time and completed it a few days ago. The new version has been tested on several stores, including stevewill's store.

Please upgrade to the latest version. Download the latest version via the new Downloads area of your account at my store. Upgrade instructions are included in the readme document and you can contact me (via the link in my signature below) if you have any questions.


Customer Image Upload v1.4 has many minor fixes/improvements and a major new feature - images/files associated with an order can now be viewed/downloaded or deleted directly from the Admin -> View/Edit Order page.

Just wanted to give everyone an update. I did get a temporary fix for my problem but when Estelle returned from her absense, she was kind enough to update my version and test it to make sure everything worked. She is awesome.

Thanks Estelle for such a great mod. I absolutely could not run my store without it.
